We fed Mac his first taste of solid food. We gave him oatmeal. I think most of it ended up on his face and bib. It was really funny to watch him. He got the hebi-geebies many times!

Mac had his 4 mo. check up. He has a little cold but other wise is doing great!! He is still skinny and getting taller! He stats are as follows:

Weight: 14 lbs. 3 oz. 44%

Height: 25.25 in. 72%

He got his second round of vaccinations... and did fairly well. We got the go ahead to start on solid foods.

Friday Feb. 3rd Mel and Cody got married! It was a great day! I only have the pics off of my camera...but more will follow.

Mac's 1st Hair Cut

Last weekend we gave Mac his first hair cut! His hair was getting really long so we decided to cut it. Here he is pre-cut.

So I am really slow to blog about Christmas and New Years, but late is better then never! We had such an amazing Christmas and New Years! It was a whole new perspective as parents! WARNING... way too many pictures!!

New Years this year was a lot of fun! Benj and Rachel flew in from AZ. We played cranium for hours... and I really really suck at it!!

We all went to dinner at Elements. It was really good!

So since Maclain has joined our family I decided that I needed to make stockings for all of us. I am not a sewer, but my mom is. She helped me pick out the fabric, showed me how to sew and helped me! They turned out sooo cute!!

This is all of the fabric that I picked out.

So we stacked the fabric and cut out these squares then mixed them up to sew them.

These are the final product. They turned out so cute!

Thanksgiving weekend we went to Layton to meet up with Matt's brother, and cousin. Both of them have new babies as well! It was so fun to see them. I am excited that we are having babies at the same time!!

Maclain is getting so big!! This is the same outfit that he has a pic in a few posts back.

He is such a happy baby! This is his Thanksgiving outfit. He is smiling now all of the time! It is hard for us to catch him on camera. It's like he knows that we are trying to take a picture so he stops smiling. Then we give up and put the camera away and he will smile more! He is such a good little boy!! We love having him around.

My sisters, mom, and I always do a day after Thanksgiving craft. We did presents this year and they turned out really cute!!

Mac is an Aggie already. He has gone to all three basketball games this season. This last Friday was the USU vs. BYU game. Mac wore his Aggie gear of course.

Saturday Oct 15, Maclain Matthew was born at 12:05. He weighed 7 lbs 11 oz and is 19.5 in long.

My water broke at 10pm on Friday night. My body wasn't doing anything so they started pitocin on me. I labored for 12 hours and never made it past a five so I had to have a c-section. I was really scared to have major surgery, but everything turned out just fine. This is us just before going back to the OR. We are so excited for this little boy to join our family!!

Lake Powell!!

Two weeks ago we went on our annual Lake Powell trip with my family! It is always so much fun!! This year was a little different for me, being prego, but was still awesome!!

The water was high enough to drive right up to the sand dunes. We haven't been able to do this for years! Matt tumbled down the hill, this is what he looked like when he got to the bottom!

It is a tradition to paint EVERYONE'S toes (boys included) and take a pic.

We got these chairs from a garage sale. They were not so cute and too tall. With help of my sister we redid them. Matt cut off the extra height.

We recovered the seats with this cute fabric.

I primed them and fixed some dents and dings.

My sister painted them.

OK, so I haven't blogged in a really long time...so here is the catch up of what has been going on. Warning there was lot of catching up to do. We got to move into our house last weekend. I am so glad to be in!! Here are some pics. It is so messy because we are still unpacking boxes, but I was excited to post some pics!!

These are the master bath. There is no shower wall and door yet. They will be in next week. I love the tub!! It is so nice to relax in! There is a separate toilet room(not pictured). Paint will be coming to this part of the house soon!

I didn't put any pics of the nursery...because it is just white walls with nothing in there. We are going to start it soon, so I will post before and after pics!

Hello all. It has been forever since I posted. We are alive and well! Things are going fast and furious lately. We are both working full time. Matt is in school and doing well! We had a great Halloween and Thanksgiving! My little brother is home from his mission in Washington State. My big brother came to visit from Georgia. Baby Kaizley was blessed last Sunday. I am playing the piano in church on Sunday and wow the list goes on and on. We are now the proud owners of a mortgage. We are going to start building our house in the spring when it thaws so we closed on our loan this week. Life is great. We are counting our blessings every day!

My sister had her baby on Tuesday. They named he Kaizley Jun Nell!! She weighed 8 lbs. 11 oz. and was 20 inches long. I was lucky to be able to be back in the c-section suite while she had the baby....the perks of being an employee!! She is very beautiful and Kass is doing great!!

We love fish... and since I am allergic to everything else they are the only pets we will ever have. All of our other fish "kids" died in the move...they were two years old. Sad. Well we have been slowly building up our tank again. We now have four slugs and four tetras. I really really really like them!! And we got a bubbler...it's lots of fun too!

Then Johnny, Kelly, Tiana, Gaven, Matt and I went to the zoo. I was tons of fun. We got in for free with cache valley cheese wrappers. It was a little cooler that day and we had a blast!

OK so I know that it has been really long since I have blogged... but we are in our new place, and we have the Internet! Good combo. Tons has happened since we moved to Logan. Here is a recap. Disclaimer....there are going to be lots and lots of pics.

On Memorial Day we went on a bike ride to Idaho. It was really fun!!

We have a canal out back of our apartment. There is a momma duck and 12 ducklings. We like to feed them. They hang outside of our house sometimes and wait for us to bring some bread!

Us girls out on the lake for the first time. We didn't get out until June...because it was to cold.

They (everyone but Mel, Kass and I) went on a hike to a slot cave. Of course Matt couldn't resist climbing some of the walls.

Last Friday my sister Mel graduated with her Masters in Social Work! We are really proud of her!! This is us after the ceremony.

This is our St. Patrick's Day dinner. We had lettuce wraps, pear jello, asparagus, and green velvet cupcakes (seen later). It was fun!

Us girls went a got pedicures!! It was really nice to relax. And now my toes are ready to see the sun!

Oh by the way...I cut my hair, about 10 inches.

These are the green velvet cupcakes that I made. They looked really good but they didn't taste the best. It wasn't a very good recipe. The frosting on the other hand was delicious... really can you go wrong with butter cream frosting?

I leave my stethoscope hanging around at work all of the time so I decided to make a name tag. Some of my friends at work showed me how to make this. I put sprinkles in it to make it more colorful! Matt had to help me put it together... I'm not so good and putting things together sometimes:) Now no one will steal it...hopefully.

For Valentines Day we were up in CV with the family. We went to this new BB&Q place...I didn't really like it. But it did have good corn bread! We had a great dinner at Mom and Dad's on Sunday. I graduated from WSU Nursing program this spring and my mom gave me a card that said for graduation she was going to make me a quilt. After a lot of hard work and time this is the awesome result! Thanks MOM!! I love it!!

Ok so I have been a HUGE slacker... but you know how it goes. Life gets busy and the blog gets forgotten about. Well here is what has been going on. We went to Lake Powell... The BEST place on earth. Here are some pics from there.

I was recently diagnosed with Graves disease. This is where my thyroid is out of control. Next week I am going to have iodine radiation therapy to kill my thyroid. So basically I will be raidoactive for a couple of days!! Fun for me. The pic. is of a normal thyroid... mine is "fluffy".

On July 13th we celebrated our 2nd anniversary. We were in TX for our first so we didn't have our cake... So we ate it this year. It was actually really good!! Matt thought that it would be funny to shove my face in the cake...

We went to Maple Canyon over the 4th of July. We had a blast!

In Maple Canyon there is tons of great rock climbing for the beginner to the pros. Matt is really good so he was the lead climb on all of the routes.

Kelly, our sister in law brought 8 week old Dustin. All of us were always wanting to hold him. Matt helped Kambree hold him. She was excited but then didn't like it when he started to cry. Kambree is such a cutie!!

For graduation Matt's parents gave us couches!! They are so comfy and nice. We were so happy to get couches that didn't sink three feet when you sat down. Don't worry Kas.. we still have the other one up stairs!

So we wore swimming suites because the Internet said we would have to "ford" rivers. It was not the case. We had bridges. This is a cool tree that we liked.

We went on a hike last week to the waterfall. It was a really pretty journey... even though I almost died multiple times. Wow I need to hit the gym more often.

ST. GEORGE

Matt and I went to St. George for spring break. We had tons and tons of fun. We went rock climbing 4 of the 5 days. We had a great time and we got a little sun!!
This is Matt repelling himself off the edge and down the cliff. This was about a 48 ft. drop. He's a pro!!

This is the same cliff. Wow the first part of it is an overhang so it took a lot of effort for me to get up and over it. Once I got over my arms were dead... but I still made it to the top. After I got up Kass was determined to make it up, and she did too! Of course Matt went up like three times without all of the drama... but us girls felt really good about getting up this one.

My mom was awesome and bought a child harness for our collection. Kyron was so brave and repelled and climbed all the the places that we went. He was amazingly fearless.

We went on a hike to see an arch. Ok it was more like a walk but the kids liked it. This is the whole gang that was there that week. We had a blast! Mom did great. She had surgery only a couple of weeks before we went and she kept up with all of us. She didn't want to climb though... next time.

Of course Matt made a noose and caught a lizard for Kyron.

Once Kyron fell off of the rock and just hung there. I just love this picture so I had to blog it!

These are more geese. The white ones are man geese and the brown one is a she goose. She kept having to chase the stupid man geese away... you know... spring=... more geese.

About 5 mins. from our house is a park with a pond and lots of birds. We went and walked around and Matt took some really cool pictures. Look how cool the water looks. This is some sort of goose... I think.

This is us in some cave we found.

Matt and I went for a hike today. This is a waterfall that is at the mouth of the canyon. The wind was blowing so hard that the water was falling up. It was really cool!

We got 14 inches of snow today and our neighborhood looked like a wintery wonderland. Matt took all of these pitures and they are great. This is a tree by our house.

For the last four weeks I have been precepting (working full time with a nurse) in labor and delivery. I LOVED being there. I helped deliver a total of about 20 babies and got to use all of my skills. I have a great mentor named Peggy! She is an amazing nurse and a great teacher! I am really going to miss being there! This is Peggy and me on my last day.

OK, ok I know that I have been a huge slacker... but you know how it is. Life is busy and crazy and without the Internet at home really hard to update a blog. So here are some tidbits of what has been happening in our crazy lives. We had a great Christmas and New Year. We got a washer for Christmas which might not seem that exciting to most but it was the perfect gift. I did laundry that same day because I was so excited that I didn't have to go to the laundry mat!! I have started school again and I am currently doing my preceptorship! I am in Labor and Delivery and I LOVE IT!! I have only done two shifts but in those two shifts I helped deliver 8 babies. Its great. We are both happy and healthy. I promise some good picture soon!

Ok so I know that I have been a huge slacker but here are some pictures of what has been going on in the past month. Here is our living room... I know its not clean but hey, I not perfect. We are proud to say that all of the furniture that we have has been donated to our cause... except for our bed. We are lucky ducks!
This is the piano that we got from Johnny and Kelly. They got it from someone else but they don't play so I asked if I could have it! It is great to have a piano in the house again. It was not taken care of so I had some TLC time with it. I filled in all of the scratches and polished her up nicely. Matt was looking on the internet to see if he could find the piano and we found the same one, which is over 100 years old. How sweet is that... a 100 year old piano in my living room. It was way heavy and took 5 men to move it.This is the final look for the piano. Doesn't it look great!!

For my wedding a recieved an apothocary jar (that thing in the picture above) and I love to decorate it! This is the look I made for fall. I am proud to say that I only spent 10 dollars on this lovely decoartion!
So we don't have a washer that works. We have 2 in the basement that don't work... but not one that works. We have a working dryer thanks to mom and dad but it's no good without clean clothes to dry in it! So every week this is where I go to do laundry. Fun for me huh?

OK so this post isn't going to be very pictureful either but i had to let the world know what we have been up to... In the past two week we have put 3000 miles on our car and paid way too much for gas! We got back into Utah on friday the fifteenth. We hunted for apartments...it took way too long to find a good one. We had a wedding on the 20th and a luncheon on the 19th, all of which we helped set up and take down. Then we went to Lake Powell the night of the 20th and stayed there for 3 days of bliss. We came home. School started on the 25, and that night we moved all of our crap into our cute new apartment!! Wow life has been busy. On top of all of that we are both still jobless... looking, but jobless. So I know no pictures is boring but deal with it!

WOW. How time flies! Well in the past month my family came to visit, we lived through a tropical storm, and now the summer is coming to an end. Can you believe I come home in a few days!! I am super excited!! I know that this isn't much but... I have been short on time. So farewell for now and I will update in a better fashion .

So we had a little crazy fun and went .... SKYDIVING!! It was really fun! Hopefully I can get more pictures from some of the other people that were there.

This is us in our jumping gear. About 15 min. later we were free falling from 14000 feet!! I was hooked on to a guy named Matt. Ironic huh? So we free fell from 14000 feet to 6000 feet when he pulled the cord and floated nicely down to the ground. I was sick for the rest of the day... with ear aches and woosyness, but it was worth it!!

For our 1 year anniversary Matt got me a Blackberry 8830 phone.... and I LOVE IT. Isn't she beautiful!!

We went to Moody Gardens for our 1 year anniversary. It was a ton of fun! The Aquarium was awesome!! We sat in there for hours looking at the fish.

I tried twice to post a movie and each time it said it was loading for over on hour... it shouldn't take that long! The movie was of the storm that we had yesterday. It was the scariest storm that I have ever experienced. First the TV just said that there was a thunderstorm warning and to stay in the house and away from the windows. Then they added tornato warnings. I looked out the window and it was still sunny. Then out of nowhere I hear thunder. I go outside and there is lightening striking uncomfortably close followed by thunder that shook the whole appartment builing. I called Matt, the worrie wart that I am, to make sure that he wasn't in the storm. Then the rain started in sheets, with wind and man alive I thought that a hurricain had to be on its way. Once again I called Matt.... no rain yet. After it had been raining here for 30 min and it started to slow down Matt calles me and tell me that it was pouring where he was and that the lightening was really really close. Oh man... what a storm. No worries we are all alive and well!

Matt and I took a trip to visit his older sister Jennifer's grave here in Houston. We actually drove past the main part of Houston for the first time since we have been down here. We got lost trying to find the cemetery and stopped at a gas station to ask. The lady at the front was like yeah it is right there... lucky huh?

Today... I GOT A JOB. It was all of the sudden out of the blue a nursing home that is close by called and wanted to interview. I had all but given up hope of finding a job in nursing and then this little blessing came along. I am no longer unemployed! Wahoo!!

Matt woke up this morning scratching.... a lot. We went to a walk in clinic and they gave him lots of steroids, and allergy medicine. I guess that he has allergies now and had an allergic reaction to something. We did change bleach so maybe that is what caused his hives. This picture isn't the best but he had huge hive all over his whole body! The office made their goal for the week so we got to go out to eat. We went to the Texas Roadhouse Bar and Grill. It was really good. This is a picture of all the sales men and the wives that are here.

We were coming home from the movie, we saw "Iron Man", and i saw this little friend on the wall... there were lots of them. We caught one and made it bleed in the process. Oops! But hey we have have gecko friends.

So i went on a hunt to find a bank... it turned into an two hour round trip adventure. Not exactly what i planned. And to make things worse, i didn't find the bank. Oh well, i did get to ride on a ferry(in my car) which i have never done, rode on this funny road with the sea on both sides and saw this really pretty bridge. What a day.

Well, Matt had his first day of work and it was a fun one!! He worked from 12 noon until 11 pm. Crazy walking all day long. Yesterday it rained all day long, like a flood of rain, so it was cold. I didn't even bring a sweatshirt. Oh well. Life is good! We hope all is well with everyone!
